IAPMO
IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service Grants ER-0295 to Linford, LLC.

Ontario, Calif. (Dec. 4, 2013 ) — IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service (UES) is pleased to announce that California-based Linford, LLC has been granted UES Evaluation Report ER-0295 referencing the 2012, 2009 & 2006 International Building Code ® and recognizing the LinForce-C Composite System.

ER-0295 is the result of extensive engineering review and compiles the supporting documentation showing that Linford’s LinForce-C Composite Systems satisfy the latest code requirements along with AC-125 dated June 2012. This allows for the specification of LinForce-C Composite Systems by architects, contractors, specifiers and designers, and approval of these installations by code officials. It also provides code officials with a concise summary of the product’s attributes and documentation of code compliance.

Products recognized under the UES have successfully undergone evaluation based on applicable requirements within the International family of codes, as well as codes published by other entities. UES staff thoroughly examined Linford’s LinForce-C Composite Systems product information, test reports, calculations, quality control methods and other factors to determine the product was code compliant.

“We are extremely pleased with ER-0295 on our LinForce-C Composite System,” said Dr. Neil Abbasi, Linford’s senior vice president and technical director. “We are excited about this report and IAPMO’s new Uniform Evaluation Service program. They have assembled great talents there. UES really listens and endeavors to do business the right way. Our entire experience with UES was quite refreshing. They honored our trust throughout the process. We are truly impressed with these professional and responsive technical experts.”

The UES program is built upon IAPMO’s more than 70 years of experience in evaluating products for code compliance. Accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the program operates under ISO/IEC Guide 65, “General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems.”

“Linford, LLC can now reference its ER-0295 for LinForce-C Composite Systems to ensure that code officials quickly have the information required for their decision on approval,” said UES Director Richard Beck, PE, CBO, MCP. Technical Director Brian Gerber, PE, SE, added: “The Linford team was really great to work with on this report. They now can go out with their systems knowing that structural designers have an added resource to turn to when seeking and specifying FRP composites for their projects.”

IAPMO’s UES offers a full range of recognition opportunities, including for the applicable national model codes, as well as Florida, California and various other states. The UES program lowers the cost and increases the value to code officials by combining all of these recognitions into one concise report prepared by an internationally recognized product certification body.

ABOUT IAPMO’S UNIFORM ES
The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) coordinates the development and adaptation of plumbing, mechanical, swimming pool and solar energy codes to meet the specific needs of individual jurisdictions both in the United States and abroad. IAPMO UES is one of the two prominent evaluation service providers (as noted by SEAOC, see Uniform-ES.org for details). UES reports provide evidence that products and systems satisfy code requirements within the scope and conditions of use as noted in each report.
