Attendance and Exhibitor Participation Experienced Solid Growth

Arlington, VA (November 2, 2018) – The 2018 ASPE Convention & Expo, the leading professional development event and conference for plumbing engineers and designers, bucked tradeshow trends by boasting a 9.4 percent jump in registration over the 2016 event.

The six-day 2018 ASPE event featured pre-show workshops and activities, a CEU-centric technical conference along with an innovation showcase and a show floor packed with more new companies and products exclusive to the plumbing design and engineering community than any other event.

Total event registration was 4,338 which included double-digit growth of both Expo-Only registrants (13.2%) and Convention registrants (19.4%).

ASPE Executive Director and CEO, Billy Smith, FASPE said, “ASPE’s Convention & Expo continues to focus on showcasing the largest display of plumbing design products and services available anywhere and that’s why we have evolved as the preeminent event in the industry.”

The event officially kicked off with a party at the Tabernacle Atlanta the night before the show floor opened. The party, sponsored by Rheem, was a networking-filled evening with industry peers and music by The Free. On October 1, the Awards Breakfast honored award recipients, inducted the 2018-2020 ASPE Board of Directors, and featured keynote speaker, Derreck Kayongo, Global Soap Project Founder and former CEO of the Center for Civil and Human Rights.

With a First-Timers Reception, ASPE Young Professionals night out, and the 2018 Women of ASPE Leadership Forum, the 2018 ASPE Convention & Expo had something for every type of attendee. In addition, with the show floor highlighting nearly 300 booths, attendees could also receive CEUs just for spending time on the show floor.

Other highlights of the Expo included the Innovation Theater and the Best Booth Awards. At the Innovation Theater, exhibitors provided education on new technologies, products, and innovations in the plumbing design industry.

The Best Booth awards recognized the most unique displays in two size categories. The 2018 winners were SharkBite/Holdrite/Cash Acme/Streamlabs and Therm-Omega-Tech, Inc. "All these people are very passionate about what they do. You get to touch the equipment, see how it works, experience what's new, and meet new people. I really enjoy the show," commented Jasmine Kinard, CPDT, a 2018 attendee from Phillips Gradick Engineering.

80% of the show floor exhibit space is already sold for the 2020 ASPE Convention & Expo which will be held in New Orleans, LA on September 11-16. For more information about the ASPE Convention & Expo.
