IAPMO to Conduct ASSE Backflow and Cross-Connection Control Training and Certification in California

0

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials Backflow Prevention Institute (IAPMO BPI) will conduct the first ever American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE) 5110 Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Training and Certification Classes in the State of California.

IAPMO BPI, a leader in cross-connection training both in the United States and internationally, has been a provider of the ASSE certification program for many years. In June, the California Department of Public Health’s Division of Drinking Water and Environmental Management’s Drinking Water Program — the division responsible for administering California’s Safe Drinking Water Act, regulating public drinking water systems, and adopting and enforcing regulations — resolved to accept the ASSE 5110 certification for individuals who perform testing on backflow prevention assemblies in the state of California.

IAPMO BPI will be conducting three Backflow Tester Certification Classes this year. The scheduled dates for these 40-hour classes will be Sept. 12-16, Oct. 17-21, and Nov. 14-18. The classes will be held at IAPMO World Headquarters in Ontario, Calif. For information on the certification classes or registration instructions, call (877) 427-6601, ext. 3007.

IAPMO BPI can also schedule private classes on location for any group or company throughout the state of California. For additional information, direct your Web browser here or call (877) 427-6601.

“We are looking forward to conducting backflow training and certification in California,” said Sean Cleary, IAPMO BPI director of Training and Education. “IAPMO was founded in the state and since 1926 has been educating and training its plumbing and mechanical industry. It only makes sense that the organization that created and continuously updates the Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes adopted in the Golden State provides the same high quality, internationally recognized training for California’s cross-connection control industry.”
