Citing an abundance of caution and concern for the health and safety of members and staff, the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) has announced it will hold its 92nd annual Education and Business Conference virtually via Zoom web conference instead of in person in San Antonio as originally scheduled. The virtual event will occur Sept. 26-30.
“This year’s virtual conference will build off the experience we gained in 2020 and truly explore the technological capabilities of online events,” said IAPMO CEO Dave Viola. “We look forward to resuming in-person events when it’s completely safe to do so but welcome the opportunity to deliver something memorable via today’s extraordinary remote platforms.”
The association believes making the decision early in the year will allow IAPMO staff to properly plan a virtual event. While it is still working on the schedule of education webinars, business meetings, networking sessions, sponsorship opportunities, and other specific details, IAPMO assures prospective attendees this year’s meeting will be as productive and fun as ever. Staff further believes it could prove to be a great opportunity for members who have never attended an annual conference due to travel or financial restrictions, as no travel or lodging expenses will be required.
IAPMO will in the coming months issue an announcement of what its virtual annual conference will include, along with a schedule and registration information, and thanks prospective attendees for their understanding and patience.
“We look forward to meeting with everyone online to continue our business in September,” IAPMO President David Gans said. “We wish you all the best during this unique time. Stay healthy.”
